ABOUT CARLSON
Women Founded, Owned, and Led by the Carlson Family Since 1965.
Carlson began almost 60 years ago as one woman’s mission to improve the health of her family through high-quality nutrition. Founder Susan Carlson’s father suffered from heart issues but found relief through natural-source vitamin E. This inspired Susan, a pharmacist by profession, to create one of the first full lines of natural-source vitamin E worldwide. The product line expanded to cater to local families and soon it was on store shelves across the nation.
In the 1980s, Carlson helped launch the omega-3 market in North America, importing our first wild-caught, sustainably sourced fish oils from Norway. By 2008, Carlson introduced the first vitamin D3 liquid drop in the US and debuted the first sustainably sourced calamari oil the following year. Today, Carlson is led by Susan’s two daughters, President Carilyn (Carlson) Anderson and Vice President Kirsten Carlson – and the innovations continue.
Carlson recently launched new plant-based products, including high-potency DHA in liquid and soft gel form and Super Daily® D3 drops designed for adults and babies. Our sustainability commitment also extends to our packaging. All Carlson products are 100% recyclable and plastic neutral. Carlson offsets the plastic in our products through investments in certified plastic removal projects taking place in our global waterways.
In addition to our eco-friendly initiatives, we’re excited to announce Carlson recently became a WBENC-Certified women-owned business. WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council) is the nation’s leading third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women.
