Doug Kalman, PhD, RD, FACN, FISSN

Dougas Kalman PhD, RD, FISSN is currently the Vice president of Scientific Affairs at Nutrasource. Additionally he is on faculty at the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University (Ft. Lauderdale, FL). Dr. Kalmanhas been involved in clinical and applied nutrition research since ~1993. He is had a love affair with nutrition since his first ingestion of a nutrient, especially the one labeled “ice cream”. Dr. Kalman has published over 200 articles and abstracts in scientific journals ranging from JAMA to Nutrition to JISSN and more. Additionally, over the years, Dr. Kalman has written more than 200 consumer oriented articles, to promote further understanding of nutrition. He has been fortunate enough to co-edit five academic text books that are used in many graduate programs globally. Sports and applied nutrition is a passion for Dr. Kalman, having worked five Olympic Games so far, with the sixth pending shortly in Japan later this summer. Dr. Kalman is one of the co-founders of ISSN. Dr. Kalman also lends his sports nutrition expertise to the SanfordMMA Team (UFC/Bellator mixed martial arts) as well as select elite athletes who engage his services. He has worked and currently does work in Collegiate and Olympic sports nutrition, as well as being an Adjunct Professor of Sports Nutrition at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. Douglas recently joined Nutrasource as the Vice President of Scientific Affairs. He prides himself on having the ability to translate from research activities in the lab to real world applications.
